Valerie A. Dorsey, 64, of Providence, RI passed on to eternal life Sunday January 26th at Miriam Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 13, 1955 to the late James W. Dorsey and Bernice (Hardy) Dorsey.

She is survived by her sister Denise Dorsey. She was preceded in death by her sisters Judidianne George and Michelle Dorsey. Valerie is also survived by her nieces Kimberly Dorsey, Kerri Northup, Dominique, Tarah, Melanie, Danielle, Tahlia and Tiana Dorsey. She was preceded in death by her niece Tiffany Dorsey. Valerie is survived by her beloved lifelong companion and friend Johnny Ashley. She also leaves to cherish her memory her loving Great nephews and nieces, as well as a host of family and friends.

Valerie loved to cook, bake and dance. She truly loved the kids and was famous for having dance contests with them. Valerie was such a strong Woman, who beat everything that life threw at her. It was a family joke she had nine lives and was indispensable. Valerie had a personality that was unforgettable, vibrant and beautiful. She was truly one of a kind. Valerie was loved by all. Anyone that had the pleasure of crossing paths with her, has a memorable story. Valerie's spirit will live through her family whom she loved dearly and they loved her back. She will truly be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation Tuesday, February 4th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Drive, Lincoln RI, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Branch Ave., Providence RI. Repast to follow at The Firefighters Hall, Providence, RI, immediately following burial.
